The Ripley Bicentennial will be held August 3-5, 2012.  A Bicentennial Committee is meeting monthly to plan the celebration.  All Ripley area residents are invited to join the committee and participate in the planning.  If you want more information, please come to the next meeting.  The dates are posted on this web site's front page in the calendar section.  You may also call Betty Campbell, Chairman, at 937-392-4044.

 Ripley, Ohio: Its History and Families, Volume 2 is a 320-page account of the Ripley’s last 50 years and contains a 16-page color section of scenic Ripley.  The book contains approximately 200 photos and over 200 people contributed articles or family histories. The book has taken almost two years to plan, write and print. There are nine chapters which are as follows: Introduction, The River, The Underground Railroad, Preserving Ripley’s History, The Town at Work, Life in Ripley, Celebrations and Organizations, Life in Ripley, Churches, Schools and Youth, People Who Made a Difference and Family Histories.

 The cost of the book is $39 and may be mailed for an additional $10.95 flat rate.  Also available are CDs of Ripley, Ohio: Its History and Families, Volume 1, the original Ripley History book that was published by Eliese B. Stivers in 1965.  The book is no longer in print and copies are hard to find to buy. Cost of the CD is $10.
